Reflecting on reflection

Here we are, week five and everybody still here!

I have been reading your blogs and have been very impressed by your first attempts. There are some very good examples of reflection already.

The purpose of these reflective blogs however is to keep improving, so this week, before you write your entries I would like you to pause a little and read what everybody has written.

In other words, I want you to reflect on the previous reflections!

Remember, the blog is not just a diary that describes what you do. There will be some element of description, but this has to be followed by evaluation of the actitivy and then, most importantly, by some plan for improvement.

I would therefore like you to look for good examples of this in your fellow students' blogs and then write a comment here about what you found and why you think it was good, useful etc.

I have also found a good video that will remind you of what a good reflective journal is, so you may want to have a look at this before you start.

  1. All the blogs so far are interesting. Norman and Bill's blogs stuck to mind because they were quite funny. Hopefully we'll see some more humour from those two.

  2. I found all the blogs interesting. A few were maybe focused more on coping with the workload then actually what they were learning. But all the same, all the blogs have valuable thoughts and ideas.

  3. I enjoyed reading the blogs, its good to know that we are strugling and trying. My favourite ones were Emma's, Norman's and Juliann's.

  4. I had a wee browse over some of the other class mate's blogs there. Some very interesting stuff. Everyone is starting to feel the pace of things picking up, myself included.

  5. Well, I have examined, analysed and evaluated a whole range of blogs. A fine selection of different colours, styles, sizes & smells!

At this relatively early stage many people are still writing about how they are finding the return to studentville and how they are dealing with the change in their circumstances.

There is also a lot scribbled about the various different subjects, and how/why they are easy/difficult, liked/disliked etc. Its great that we have so many different points of view!

Its interesting to read about people’s preconceptions and how they are discovering (or rediscovering!) abilities. The various study methods and organisational ideas are also worthy of note.

There’s some good ideas about studying outside the classroom (for example intercambios) , and how different people have set themselves different goals & objectives.

A couple of mentions were made of how inspiration has been drawn from others in the group and this is a DAMNED FINE THINGS; together we shall overcome the various obstacles that are thrown at us!

  6. After (hopefully) reading everyones blog, I feel the best two would be 'FORSTERBONGS' and 'Sara rocks!!!'

I like how Devlin answered all of the questions listed, but I also feel he should have left out the questions he didn't have answers to.

Sara's I liked because her veiws about the classes are the same as mine.

  7. READ ALL ABOUT IT, READ ALL ABOUT IT

    !!!!!ANDY'S BLOG WINS!!!!!

I have realised from reading his blog that he is organised in his approach. He is aware of his weaknesses and how to work on them. When I think of Andy I think thats one good blogger!!

What I found after reading everyones blog is that they are organised and some are very reflective on what they have done and need to do.
Andy's blog in particular was my favourite one. His was extremely organised and it showed where his weaknesses are and how he may go about improving them.
